Presented by Jack Harries, it highlights the key themes at the forefront of young people’s minds today, in a clear and relatable way. S1 E1 Climate Change: How we got here. Looking back at our 10,000 years of climate stability , this episode covers how the discovery of ancient fossil fuels changed the course of humanity as we know it. E2 Climate Denial: 50 years of lies & misinformation. This episode explores the role of fossil fuels companies in denying the science around climate change and investing millions into misinformation campaigns to confuse the public and seed doubt. E3 Climate Crisis: Nine years left to avoid disaster. Addressing why we have just 9 years left to halve global emissions, and taking a look back at all the COPs of the past. We look at the crucial turning points of the Paris climate agreement, the 2018 IPCC report and why COP 26 in Glasgow is so crucial. E4 Climate Justice: An unequal world. Highlighting how climate change is first and foremost a social justice issue, and looking at the intersection between racism and climate change and exploring the need for a just transition. E5 Climate Solution: What you can do. In this episode, we look at the difference between individual and systemic change and ultimately why we must all join the climate movement. S2 E1 Can capitalism solve the climate crisis? It’s clear that our current capitalist system isn’t working for people or planet. This episode dives into the current system failing our planet and explores alternative ideas that could form an entirely new economic system. E2 Are there too many people on the planet? With a population approaching 10 billion, this episode debunks the overpopulation argument and looks to the real driver of environmental degradation – overconsumption. E3 Is sustainability a lie? While ‘sustainability’ might be everyone’s favourite buzzword, what does it really mean? In this episode, we investigate the origins of the sustainable movement and question what the future holds. E4 How can we turn climate anxiety into action? Our house is on fire, so why aren’t we acting like it’s an emergency? This episode speaks to the feelings of sadness, grief and anxiety that many of us feel when faced with the enormity of the climate crisis and looks to the role of communities to overcome such inaction-inducing feelings.
